Nursery: All About Me part 2
This week we continued to learn all about us! On Monday each child was asked how they came to school. This got us talking about different means transportation.
In Reggio inspired schools, we believe that "tinkering" provides the children with the opportunity to practice many amazing skills such as fine motor skills, social collaboration skills and problem solving skills.
We experimented with ramps to see which items slide down quickly and which slide down slowly. We used a chart to categorize the different items under fast and slow. This activity incorporated science math and literacy!
We shaped the letters Bet and B in salt and shaving cream.
Sports with coach Zev was a hit! We can't wait for our next sports class!
This week we learned about each of our friends special names! Thank you to the parents for sending in notes telling us about the meaning of your child's name! We used model magic to shape the hebrew letters of our names and glued it to frames which are on display at the school entrance.
We sang the following song:
I've got a name
I've got a lovely Jewish name
I hope that you will tell me yours
and I will do the same
We learned that there are so many Mitzvot that we can do with each of our body parts and we enjoyed reading "All About Us" by Dina Rosenfeld.
We can't wait to learn all about Rosh Hashana and meet a real bee keeper next week at Torah Tots!
Shabbat Shalom,
Morah Chayala and Morah Chaya
