Nursery Community Helpers Unit

Hello Families,

In this unit we talked about our community helpers and all of the very important roles each helper plays. In our classroom we focused our class project of turning our dramatic area into a fire station. We dressed up as the firefighters with oxygen tanks,  and the 911 operators of the fire station. It was really fun to see the children's reactions when they obtained their titles. They took their rolls very seriously and ensured that each child in the class was well taken care of.

In this unit we really developed our appreciation for literacy and math! We did lots of activities using special tools and creating our own look alike materials!

The children learned so much about themselves as we really started to ask what they wanted to be when they grow up, we got a lot of insight and learned new little traits about the children and saw their skills grow as they role played the different community helper jobs.

Please enjoy some of these highlights from our Community Helpers Unit.
