Favorite Author Unit

In this unit we talked about our favorite books and our favorite Author. We chose to learn all about "Pete the cat's" adventures. As an extension of Pete the Cat we decorated shirts with groovy buttons and we made colorful shoes with laces. As a class we wrote our own book that we called "The dog named ouchy and the elephant cat". It was very nice to see the children using their imagination, commenting on their friends point of view and also adding to the story in their own unique way. We loved having some of our parents come and do a read a loud in for our class. Thank you for coming!

This unit we really gained an appreciation for books and literacy!

This unit we did a lot of interesting science experiments. We made sensory bottles using oil, water and food coloring. We did an experiment to learn how rain works and how the water gathers in the clouds. We created a walking rainbow with paper towel and food colouring.

Please enjoy the pictures and have a look at the skills that your child has gained through each of these activities!
