We had an amazing first week of school, the Children have begun to settle into their daily routines. We are continuing to build those meaningful relationships with your lovely little ones, and observing all of their individual traits. We will be working on each child's individual needs, and working on enhancing those developmental milestones. Morah Galit and I , have been working very hard to make sure each child feels welcomed into their new environment.
Here are some of the highlights of this week: We have explored the insides of an apple and Pomegranate, observed the seeds and even counted up to 5 seeds in one of our apples together. We discovered the hidden star that can be found inside of an apple, and decided that we had to create some beautiful art work in hope that the beauty of the apple will be noticed in our art and crafts. The Pre-Nursery children had the chance to further enhance their sensory skills by dipping green apples into fresh sweet honey. we spoke about where Honey came from and how important it is to know the difference between a 'Bee' and a 'Wasp' because these two do two very different things and we should not bother them while we play. We explored some real honey combs and even got to try some real honey fresh from the honey combs.
We are very proud of all of the children, and are very impressed with how smooth most of the transitions have been going. In class we have prepared some honey dishes with the children along with some beautiful pomegranate art to take home, they seem very excited to take them home and celebrate Rosh Hashana at home, as we welcome a new year, filled with new beginnings and lots of love. During the week we had the opportunity to touch a real Shofar, and practiced blowing it, we spoke about its texture, it's colour, and used all of our senses to fully explore the Shofar.

We had an awesome first week, let's take a glimpse into this week:
We've been working on our fine motor skills, the children practiced their palmer grasp by cupping the stamp tube and squeezing.
Elect, Physial, Fine Motor, Palmer grasp.
We build friendships and asked for forgiveness, we shared how much we cared for each other by offering a smile or a hug to friends. Learning about Yom Kippur and friendship really helped us build on those social interest skills, we encouraged children to initiate play with a peer, and assigned buddies for transitional walks. The children are becoming more vocal with play, and sharing what they feel and what they need.
Elect, 1.1 Social Interest, Language skills.
Yakira used a glitter glue stick to apply blue lip gloss to the babies lips.
Elect, Cognition, Pretend play, Practical life skills.
We explored the inside of the pomegranate and enjoyed the fruit for snack using all of our senses to fully explore this special Rosh Hashana fruit.
Elect, Sensory Discrimination, Using all sense to understand something.
Lots of Playground fun! 🤗
Elect, Physical, Gross Motor, Nature and Movement.
This week we also enjoyed our second music class with Morah Breyna!
Today at our Shabbat celebration the Rabbi blew a real Shofar for us and we got to hear the different sounds that it makes. We are working on our own Shofar craft as well!
Have a great weekend and we will see you next week for new adventures together.
Shabbat Shalom!
Morah Lauren & Morah Galit🤗
