Hello Families,
The past two units have been so much fun, in the senses unit, we really got to know ourselves on a different level and now they may be wanting to take on more due to them learning what their bodies are capable of when we work with our senses. We took the time to slow down and really tried to understand what we felt, saw, touched, heard, and tasted. During our Rainforest unit, we focused on learning about the different layers of the rainforest and observing the different types of animals, creatures, and plants live within its thick trees. Please enjoy some of the highlights of the past two units:
Designing our huge leaves for our rainforest...
Adding some dark green, brown, and black to our large box to create a rainforest,
We created our own bugs to add to the bottom of the rainforest,
Listening to the story the biggest home in the world, while we create our own snail shell thats the perfect size for us using playdough and clay
Outside Fun!
The Jungle is completed with monkeys, bugs, snakes, and other little creatures,
In the senses Unit we conducted a taste test, to excersize our sense of taste, we used a test tube to gather a drop of liquid and each child had the chance to identify if the taste was plain water, sweet, sour, or salty...
Mac Tac Sticky Loose Part,
Fine Motor, adding Marshmellows as snowflakes onto a winter tree,
Exploring Wet and dry Chalk during the senses unit to observe change in texture and wet and dry visual change. If you listen close it even sounds different on the chalk board if chalk is dry.
