Welcome
back after a very cold winter break! We came back to school with lots of snow!
We had so
much playing with snow ( shaving cream) in our classroom. The children enjoyed
moving the cars through the snow, making roads and hills. We began learning
about different things that happen in the winter.
We
learned about how the water evaporates from the ground in the cloud and when
the cloud is full, the cloud explodes and rains out. In the cold, the rain
turns to snow. We did an experiment in class with a sponge to see how the water
fills the sponge and then it begins to pour out from the sponge. We also did an experiment using water. In an ice tray, we added water and jewels. We then put it in the freezer and after a few hours, we saw it had turned to ice. We then played with the ice and watched how it melts. We had so much fun learning about Liquids and how they change into solids!
We
painted with q-tips a winter wonderland!
We also
made our own classroom snowman which we named OLAF of course. Using loose
parts, we made our own cute snowmen on the table. We also played a sorting game
using snowflakes, we sorted the snowflakes by colour and size.
and we loved Yoga with Katerina!
We played
a glove matching game where we had to match different gloves by colours. The
children then coloured them using pastels and connected them with a pipe cleaner.
The
highlight of the week is being able to play outside in beautiful white snow
with our friends.
At Torah
Tots, we go outside every day, please send boots and a snowsuit to school daily
so they can play outside with their friends.
Thank you
for a wonderful week,
