This week we started our new unit by jumping right in to the the crisp weather and beautiful colours of Fall! Here is a look at some of the unique sensory based ways we interacted with the season!
Is is it bumpy or is it smooth fall sensory!
Tracing leaves on the light table! with our light table we create an inviting learning space, where children are encouraged to engage in learning activities through play without even realizing it. Due to its simple design, a light table draws children in with its luring light!
We made our own tin foil leaves to add an extra element to our fall tree mural.
Never a dull moment and always so much fun with sports with coach Zev!

changing our classroom tree leaves from green to fall colours!
This went along with the song we've been singing at circle time about our new season:
All the leaves are falling down
falling down
falling down
all the leaves are falling down
Red, Orange, Yellow and Brown!
(tune of London bridge)
Fall tree provocation! We looked at different trees and gave the children the space to create! The intention of provocations is to provide an invitation for a child to explore and express themselves. It should be open-ended and provide a means for expression where possible.
Our nursery class working on their fine motor skills by following the pumpkin stem dotted lines!
Harvest Soup Sensory. A book we've been reading, Harvest Soup, opened opportunity to learn about our fall vegetables and how we harvest them!
Literacy and Numeracy practice with our Nursery friends matching our letters and numbers on our fall trees.
Our nursery friends prepped our harvest vegetables so nicely, counting all the seeds as we went along!
Math fun weighing our pinecones and pumpkins!
Shaving cream fall sensory!
Painting our tree provocation!
Mashing our soup! yum!
