Outer Space

This week we explored the Solar System.
We manipulated clay and used toothpicks to write letters in clay.

We blew up an inflatable Rocket ship which we brought outdoors and took turns shooting it into outer space.

We practiced drawing horizontal and vertical lines to write the letter "E".

We played a counting game using a dice to fill the moon with "rocks". This activity worked on 1:1 correspondence fine motor skills and working in a group taking turns.

We decorated stars and which we used to decorate our classroom!

Our drama center turned into a Rocket ship! We have been so busy using our computers in the control center and counting down to lift off! There has been real interest in the Rocket ship that we have decided to take it to the next level and build a rocket ship using giant card board boxes! Thank you for all of the boxes that you brought in! We will start to work on building our rocket next week.

We learned that the moon has craters on it. We made a thick paint mixture using paint and flour and painted a moon. We then used cups to form craters on our moon.

 Alef Bet Sensory!

Alphabet match game

We learned that there is no gravity in outer space. We pretended to be astronauts writing under the table lying on our backs.

This week was a winter wonderland in the playground!

Happy birthday Sophie and thank you for the delicious Jello treat!
