With the Holidays fast approaching we kicked off our week starting our Chanukah unit!
This week we focused on our counting skill and the Menorah. We had such wonderful guests this week with the Firefighters and their truck and Catalina for Yoga!
For one of our sensory activities this week we squished olives in bags to make olive oil that is used to light the Menorah
We Started work on our Chanukah projects making our very own Menorahs
It was so much fun having the firefighters come in and teach us about fire safety
Yoga is a great way to keep us moving indoors with the colder weather approaching
We matched the squares on the paper to the cubes in the bin. This activity is great for shape recognition, counting and colour matching. We have two different setups available to be more or less challenging depending on the individual child's needs
For our display in the class we spent the week using different art methods to make a gigantic menorah for one of our bulletin boards
we counted out the pieces of gelt for each number on the Dreidels!
