Art 2

Dear parents,

These past two weeks we were busy preparing our "One Hundred Languages" art mural. We enjoyed the spin art using a salad spinner to create a beautiful blend of colour. We also had a chance to weave with paper which was a great fine motor exercise.

This is the final product of our art display. We are so proud of our art work!

A special artist names Vera came to visit our class and showed us some of her art work. She also showed us a technique that she uses called collage. We then had a chance to cut and tear paper to created our own collages which are on display in our classroom next to some Mattise's collage art work. We also learned about the famous artists Van Gough and Pollock and looked at their art work and the techniques that they used.

We have been busy experimenting with colour! we put cellery into coloured water and observed how the leaves changes colour throughout the week.

We did an "Exploding Colours" experiment using milk, food colouring and dish soap.

We used syringes to pour vinegar on baking soda and food colouring to make mini explosions.

We worked on number recognition and counting with cheerios.

We made pudding and wrote our names with it. Yummy!

We mathched the letters of our hebrew names and sorted the letter Vav and letter Daled balls.

We have been peeling our own clementines for snack.

Fun in the snow!

Happy birthday Arele!

Looking forward to a great week ahead as we learn about Chanuakah!
