Yom Kippur!

This week we learned all about the special holiday of Yom Kippur! we talked about how we share and are kind to our friends and on Yom Kippur we wear our slippers to shul and say I'm sorry!

we had so much fun with all of our leaning and discovering this week!

We looked at all the different faces and emotions we can make and made our own in the mirror

Our nursery friends helped us measure and cut out our slippers!

Developing our gross motor skills with our bubble wrap roads!

One of our Arts for this week to prepare for Yom Kippur was making slippers!

Practicing sharing with our friends just in time for Yom Kippur!

We had so much fun working on our fine motor skills driving the cars with crayons on the lines! Fine motor activities play an important role in a child’s development and success at school.

For circle time this week we have been learning all about Yonah and the great big fish with our puppet show! Hand Puppets are a natural and fun extension of the pretend play that young children engage in so readily. Our puppet shows help the children develop some important concepts like Yom Kippur!

here we are painting our giant fish!

Morah Catalina came this week to do yoga with us! we had so much fun!

Our Nursery friends spent time learning about Mitzot and Avarot and how we make Hashem so happy every time we do a mitzvah!

Rosh Hashanah Pt 2!

We have been very busy little bees these past weeks finishing up our Rosh Hashannah Unit!!

We were hard at work making our beautiful crafts to send home to share with our friends and families for this special time of year!

We practices sorting and counting our apples!

Our nursery friends have been busy with many math and literacy activities in the morning, making patterns, counting how tall they are with apples, creating apple sculptures and  weighing apples and pomegranates with different mediums

Our rosh Hashanah sensory activities really made everyone beehive so well! We love to encourage engaging play and exploration, both independently and with friends!

We have the wonderful Morah Shirley for music!

To end our week we all made delicious honey cake! Baking can help young kids learn and practice some basic math concepts and build language skills. The experience of creating treats  help build their self-confidence and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits.

Right before Yom Tov we had a very special guest for our davening circle to hear the shofar!
