We had another week packed with learning about Winter!
We went ice fishing at our sensory table filled with water beads and fish.
We build a snowman out of baking soda and water. Then we used sryinges to pour vinegar on our snowman. We predicted what we thought would happen to our snowman. Then we noticed that the vinegar was causing the baking soda to bubble and "melt". This was a great sensory experience, fine motor strengthening and science experiment all in one activity!
We mixed blue and white paint together to get different shades of blue for our winter scene painting.
We each made a fluffy snowman friend using a shaving cream and paint mixture and decorating with buttons, eyes, hat and carrot nose. We each named our snowman and put it up on our winter display.
We built Aleph Bet snowmen by matching the letters with sticks and styrophoam balls.
Show and Share on Wednesdays is a highlight of our week. The children grow in their confidence as they speak in a safe and controlled environment and tell their friends about the item that they wanted to share with the class.
We had a winter provocation set up for us with lots of winter items to use creatively with the playdough.
We did an experiment with ice and salt. We noticed that the ice with the salt melted faster than the plain ice. That is why we use salt on the sidewalks and roads in the winter!
We had lots of fun outdoors and a great class with coach Zev on Wednesday.
On Friday we met our friend Yud which is the first letter of the word Yad- Hand. We painted our Yad and printed them on our trains.
Shabbat Shalom!!
